Using the Kea Coloring Book

The Kea Coloring Book is lots of fun and of course it's FREE!

Kids as young as two years old will get hours of fun mixing colors and coloring in a great variety of pictures.  And it's not just for kids.  We have had many grown ups tell us that they love to do some coloring in too!  It is very relaxing.

Starting the Kea Coloring Book

From the [Start] button in windows, click on Programs > Kea Coloring > Kea Coloring.

The Tools

When you start the Kea Coloring Book, the Paint Brush is selected and can be moved around the screen with the mouse.  To choose another tool, just click on it to pick it up.  To pick the Paint Brush up again, just click on it.

Paint Brush: Click with the tip of the paint brush to color an area of the picture, or dip it into the paint on the palette or the mixing tray to choose a new color.

Dropper: Use the dropper to suck up paint from the palette, the mixing tray or even off the picture, and squirt it into the mixing tray.  Squirting into an empty tray will put the color there, squirting into one that has paint already will mix the two colors.  You can suck up varying amounts depending on the mix required.  When using the dropper, aim the tip of the opening at the paint.

Tap: Turn on the tap to wash the paint away.  The tap can wash out an area of the mixing tray, and can also wash the entire picture clean, so that you can start over.

The Palette

Choose a color, and dip your brush in the paint on the palette.

There's more palettes to choose from.  Just click on the arrows of the Palette Picker to go back and forward.
